The Ministry of Public Security has emphasized that legal action will be taken against individuals who publish false photos and news related to the incident in which organized criminals were brought to Sri Lanka last night (30).
Minister Ananda Wijepala personally arrived at Katunayake Airport to receive officers from the Sri Lanka Police and the Indonesian Police who were involved in the operation to arrest criminals, including Kehelbaddara Padme.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs noted that fake photos and news about this incident are circulating on social media. Specifically, a fabricated photo allegedly showing Minister Ananda Wijepala has been widely shared.
The Ministry strongly rejects these false reports and photos, and reiterates that legal action will be taken against those responsible for disseminating them.
