It has been decided to appoint former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga as the leader of the United People’s Front. Sri Lanka Latest News
Sri Lanka Freedom Party Media Spokesperson Mr. Thisara Gunasinghe stated that this decision was reached at the executive council meeting held yesterday (06) to amend the constitution of the United United Front.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party is going to contest the upcoming elections under the umbrella of a broad alliance.

Mr. Thisara Gunasinghe also said that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party will have 25% representation in the leadership board and 50% power in the working committee under the Podujana Peramuna constitutional amendment.

He mentioned that it was also decided to appoint the new officers of Podujana United Peramuna on the 22nd.

Accordingly, a new person will be appointed to the position of secretary of the party.

Mrs. Chandrika Kumaratunga was once a Chief Minister, a Prime Minister and twice a President and retired and she is now 79 years old.
