Sri Lanka is starving! By January, the situation is catastrophic! Sri Lanka is categorised by the IMF alongside Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.

Sri Lanka has been included among the countries suffering from acute hunger in the world and citing a report of the World Food Program, the International Monetary Fund points out that Sri Lanka is also suffering from a serious food crisis.

The World Food Program included Sri Lanka among the countries suffering from acute hunger for the first time last June.

According to the new report released last September, Sri Lanka has been included in the list and citing the relevant report, the International Monetary Fund also indicates that the food security of 19 countries including Sri Lanka will further deteriorate between October this year and January next year. that

Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Somalia and Yemen have been named among the countries with acute food insecurity, and Sri Lanka is also approaching the same risk.

The International Monetary Fund points out that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, climate change, regional conflicts and epidemics have contributed to the food crisis, the International Monetary Fund points out.
