For the first time in Sri Lanka, the World Tourism Education Consultancy, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, orchestrated a Turkish Universities Promotion and Education Fair. The event was ceremoniously inaugurated by Dr. Susil Premjayanth, the Minister of Education of Sri Lanka, in conjunction with Ms. R. Demet Şekercioğlu, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Sri Lanka.
During her briefing to the minister, Ambassador Şekercioğlu noted that while seven universities were initially slated to participate, a few encountered technical obstacles and could not attend. Nonetheless, five esteemed universities were present at the fair.
Minister Premjayanth, in his interactions with the attending universities, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and facilitating this initiative in every possible manner for the benefit of Sri Lanka. The event, taking place today (February 18, 2024) at the Hilton Colombo Residencies from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, was emphasized by the Minister as a significant opportunity for Sri Lankan students interested in pursuing higher education in Türkiye to directly engage with representatives from these prestigious institutions.
The Minister further endorsed the fair as a golden opportunity for Sri Lankan students seeking to pursue higher studies in Türkiye, as they can directly interact with representatives from five reputable Turkish universities present at the event.
