Deputy Minister of Tourism Ruwan Ranasinghe has stated that Sri Lanka is expected to lose between US$10 and 12 million per week due to a decline in foreign tourist arrivals amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, a flight from Katunayake Airport to Dubai departed for the Middle East during a period when the airspace was opened for limited operations. The flight, operated by Fitz Air yesterday afternoon, carried 47 passengers and 10 crew members.

Similarly, an Air Arabia flight departed from Katunayake Airport to Sharjah yesterday afternoon, carrying 44 passengers and 10 crew members.

Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka added that the government has taken steps to further extend the two-week visa period for foreign visitors currently in the country.
