Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman, Arjuna Herath, has announced his decision to step down from his position.
When approached for comment, he stated that he will remain in office only until 31st of this month.
Herath explained that he had accepted the role for a limited period at the request of the government and had submitted a request to be released from his duties a few days ago.
He further clarified that, although he had expressed his willingness to continue as Chairman, he is stepping down due to personal reasons.
Having served in numerous roles across both the public and private sectors for over three decades, Herath is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In addition, he is the inaugural Chairman of the Sri Lanka Data Protection Authority and has held positions in various local and foreign institutions.
