Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that Sri Lanka’s oil and electricity supply will continue uninterrupted despite the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.
Addressing the media in the Kalutara area, the Minister noted that fluctuations in global oil prices could lead to a possible increase in fuel prices locally.
However, he emphasized that any such increase would not be fully passed on to consumers, as a significant portion of the cost would be absorbed by the Treasury.
The Minister further stated that the government expects to reduce the currently elevated oil prices as soon as the war situation stabilizes.
