Senior government officials have stated that they are sceptical that the $ 6.9 million paid by the government to the controversial organic fertiliser Chinese company in 2021 will ever be recovered, according to the Sunday morning newspaper. Sri Lanka Latest News

As a measure to protect the company’s brand name, the Chinese fertilizer manufacturer has continued to reject Sri Lanka’s request, the newspaper reported.

It has been learned that the Chinese manufacturer has rejected Sri Lanka’s request to recover the amount of 6.9 million dollars in several rounds of negotiations held recently and has instead proposed to provide organic fertilizers at that value.

However, it has been learned that the Sri Lankan officials are still trying to discuss the matter.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan officials have requested the Chinese manufacturers to provide chemical fertilizers instead of organic fertilizers, and the company has rejected the request saying that they produce only organic fertilizers.

However, the other day, the Minister of Agriculture said that he will discuss to recover the amount.
