Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya emphasizes that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect the judicial system and pass it on to future generations, as it is essential for a journey with common goals for the sovereignty of the people. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
The Chief Justice expressed these views while participating in a program held at the Sri Lanka Law College.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Law College, a program called “Back to Law College” was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Acting Attorney General Parindama Ranasinghe, and Court of Appeal President Justice Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne.
The Chief Justice further commented:
“We are all here together to add a new chapter in the journey of this institution of utmost importance.
This institution is performing a very important mission for the people’s judicial power and sovereignty. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure the protection and preservation of these institutions, culture, and heritage, and to pass them on to future generations as part of a journey with a common purpose. These sentiments make us live with eternal realities.
I trust that all of us will make every effort to protect the interrelationship of all institutions in the justice process.”
