A special meeting was held today between the Vice President of India and Sri Lanka’s Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Sajith Premadasa.
Issuing a statement on the meeting, the Leader of the Opposition said that fruitful discussions were held on expanding trade, strengthening economic ties, and creating practical opportunities that would benefit both nations.
He further noted that Sri Lanka and India are not merely neighboring countries, but true partners bound by a shared history, common challenges, and a shared future.
Mr. Premadasa emphasized that the time has come for both nations to move forward with greater ambition, purpose, and confidence in order to maximize the benefits of this partnership for all citizens.
