Professor Ashu Marasinghe, President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Parliamentary Affairs Adviser, has expressed regret and wishes to extend his unconditional apologies to Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Governor of the Central Bank, for comments made recently on a television programme.
He stated that statements he made in the ‘Thulawa’ TV programme on Independent Television about Dr Nandalal Weerasinghe are false and that he regrets them.
Professor Ashu Marasinghe recently stated that the Governor of the Central Bank is ready to run for President, and that campaigning has already begun.
