Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday. Her children and Lok Sabha MPs Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were also present at the hospital.

According to a PTI report, Sonia Gandhi was feeling unwell due to the recent change in weather and was admitted for observation.

The Rajya Sabha MP was previously hospitalised in January for respiratory discomfort. At that time, doctors at the hospital stated that her bronchial asthma had been mildly exacerbated due to the combined effects of Delhi’s winter and air pollution.

In 2025, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on three separate occasions for various health reasons. In June, she was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for a stomach-related issue. Earlier that same month, she underwent a routine health check-up in Shimla following minor health concerns. Prior to these, she had been hospitalised at Sir Ganga Ram in February 2025, also due to a stomach-related problem.

The 79-year-old leader has served five terms as a Lok Sabha MP before her tenure in the Rajya Sabha and is a two-time former president of her party.
