Mr. Tiran Alas, Minister of Public Security, said that he has a goal to eliminate the criminal side of the country and that he will attack anyone who obstructs that goal.

The minister also said that no matter how many “powerful” people there are, he will act like that.

Mr. Tiran Alas said that before June 30th, he needs to see a big change in the fight against crime in all provinces.

The Minister of Public Security stated this while participating in a police workshop held in Colombo.

Ministry Secretary Viyani Gunathilake, and Acting Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon also participated in this event.

The Minister said that some people on social media are now getting angry and attacking him and the Inspector General of Police said that this is all drug money.

The minister mentioned that he has been troubled by those issues for many years and that it is impossible to beat him down.

The Minister of Public Security further said that if there is a problem with the police, he will stand up for it.
