SLC refused Kusal Janith’s plea for funding for shoulder surgery
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Reliable source informs that Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Janith Perera requires immediate shoulder surgery due to a strain sustained while playing the game.
Perera has been out of the game since the T20 World Cup due to a shaky patch with the bat, a Covid infection, and a shoulder injury.

HIs plea for funding for the surgery was refused by SLC with out any reasons.

Meanwhile, the opposition leader, Mr. Sajith Premadasa, tweeted to the SLC about the return on investment that could be made by investing in such a great player who has helped a lot with the bad instead of sending politicians and officials on foreign trips. He advocates for less wasteful spending and increased player support.

What gives better ROI for ⁦@OfficialSLC⁩, sponsoring a star player’s surgery or sponsoring trips abroad for politicians and officials? I am certain there is enough wasteful spends in the P&L that can be curtailed so players can be better supported. https://t.co/5Fpjtst57c
