SJB-Bar Association litigates! As soon as the president arrives, the high security zone gazette will be revoked!

It is reported that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed the Attorney General to look into the necessary measures to invalidate the gazette issued by President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Defense naming several special locations in Colombo as high security zones.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe recently issued this gazette based on the facts and recommendations presented by a group of high level officials of the Ministry of Public Security.

But due to this gazette, a group of economic experts have made a long presentation to President Ranil Wickramasinghe that there will be a severe impact on business activities in the central economic zone of Colombo.

The expert group has pointed out that the economic damage caused by occasional riots in Colombo city is very high, but that other problems may arise through the designation of these high security zones.

Accordingly, the President has given instructions to the relevant departments led by the Ministry of Public Security to remove these high security zones and prepare a special security program by coordinating the intelligence agencies instead.

However, reliable sources confirm that this will be done after the President returns to Sri Lanka after his visit to Japan, as the signature of the President must be applied to cancel this gazette announcement.
