Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that during yesterday’s Executive Committee meeting of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), and during two previous Management Committee meetings, a unanimous decision was made for the SJB — under its leadership and guidance — to politically engage in a joint program of action with the United National Party (UNP).
He further stated that this decision received unanimous approval, and that the SJB will move forward under its leadership based on a framework of practical, democratic, progressive, and people-oriented policy consensus, aimed at providing solutions and answers to issues affecting the country and its people.
The Opposition Leader also emphasized that while carrying out this joint initiative, both parties will maintain their individual identities.
