The Meteorological Department has issued its latest weather bulletin, forecasting showers or thundershowers at times in the Northern, North Central, and North Western provinces today (13).

In other areas, showers or thundershowers are likely during the evening or night. The Uva Province and the Hambantota District are expected to experience fairly heavy rainfall, with localized showers reaching up to 75 mm.

Morning showers are also anticipated in some coastal areas of the Western Province, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

Additionally, foggy conditions are likely in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces during the morning hours.

The public is advised to take precautions to mitigate risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning, which may accompany thunderstorms.
