President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association, Mr. Saliya Peiris, has expressed his strong objection regarding a senior police officer grabbing a female police officer by the neck and pushing her during a demonstration.
He has stated that the police have violated the law on 3 occasions in one day.
One incident is the behavior of this senior police officer.
The second is the arrest of two women who were walking with protest placards.
The third is the arrest of someone traveling without an ID card.
Mr. Saliya Peiris states that this is shameful.
