The National Dengue Control Unit has warned of a potential severe spread of dengue fever across the country as a result of the ongoing heavy rainfall.
Dr. Prasila Samaraweera, Community Specialist at the National Dengue Control Unit, told Mawrata that Health Medical Officers are currently giving special attention to areas identified as high-risk and are actively implementing dengue control programs to manage the situation.
Dr. Samaraweera further noted that the mosquito population density has been increasing due to the continuous rains and emphasized that public cooperation is essential to bring the situation under control.
