Today (21) around 03 in the morning, this journalist was attacked at the accommodation in Kelaniya area where he is staying.
Dhanushka Seneviratne, who was attacked, is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital due to serious injuries to her head and legs.
While he was sleeping, someone came and knocked on the hostel’s door at around 03:00 this morning.
Before opening the door, he asked who was present and was told that it was the police, so he opened the door of his room.
He says that the person who attacked him said the name of a person staying with him in the hostel and asked him where that person was.
At that time, Dhanushka told the mob that the person was not in the shelter, but they repeatedly attacked Dhanushka.
At first, only one person came inside the house and questioned him, and in the attack, two others came from outside the home and severely attacked him on the head with a chair in the house.
Dhanushka has identified the people who later came into the house to attack him as employees of a famous private television channel in the country.
The footage has been taken into police custody for further investigations.
