A ceremony was organized at the main office auditorium of the Department of Archeology to mark his departure to Kelaniya University to perform his regular duties.
It is reported that the staff belonging to all ranks of the Department of Archeology participated in this event. Several people have commented there in appreciation of his service.
It is said that the committee also made a commemorative gift to Professor Anura Manatunga.
Recently, the President had accused Professor Anura Manatunga in a discussion about the lands belonging to the Department of Archeology at the Kurundi Temple site in Mullaitivu. It was in a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat on the 8th.
