Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara has filed a writ petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order to prevent his arrest without reasonable grounds in connection with the ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Attorney General, and several others have been named as respondents in the petition.
