Sending money to Sri Lanka : CBSL message to SL foreign workers

Rumours in circulation that remittances of expatriates will be taxed or forcibly converted into Sri Lankan rupees, are completely false, Central Bank said.

“Overseas remittances can be kept in expatriates’ bank accounts in foreign currency and be converted into Sri Lankan rupees at the expatriates’ discretion” Central Bank added.
