A Bandarawela Poonagala Tamil Maha Vidyalaya teacher has been admitted to the Diyathalawa Base Hospital for treatment after alleging that former provincial councillor Mr. Sendil Thondaman assaulted him.
He stated that the attack was carried out by former provincial councillor Sendhil Thondaman, who entered the school.
Last Sunday, a group of teachers and others came to the school to repair the buildings that had been damaged due to the recent bad weather, and the Chairman of the Haldummulla Regional Council, as well as former provincial council member Mr. Sendil Thondaman, were also present.
According to reports, Mr. Sendil Thondaman, a former provincial council member, attacked the teacher during an argument between the chairman of the local council and the concerned teacher.
Meanwhile, college teachers protested today in Bandarawela town, claiming that the law is not applied to the former provincial council member involved in the assault.
