Yesterday, the General Conference of the ‘Struggle Winning Censensus’ was held in Colombo by the Sarvapakshika Aragalakaruwo, a civil organization that supports the ‘GotaGoHome’ people’s struggle.
The conference was attended by several opposition political parties, civil organizations, trade unions, and members of the general public, including protesters at the Galle Face protest site.
The conference was held in order to secure the support of a majority faction of society, including opposition political parties and the general public, for its planned public protest on July 9th.
During the conference, the Sarvapakshika Aragalakaruwo also presented a four-point proposal.
Several opposition politicians attended the conference, including Samagi Jana Balawega and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Sri Lanka Freedom Party President Maithripala Sirisena, Tamil Progressive Alliance Leader Mano Ganesan, and MPs Tissa Attanayake and Dayasiri Jayasekera, among others.
