UK WIMBORNE CC have snapped up Ranuk Jayasuriya, son of Sri Lankan cricketing legend Sanath.
Ranuk debuted for the club as the new Dorset Cricket League season got underway at the weekend.
The 16-year-old helped Wimborne to an eight-wicket win over Sherborne in the Premier Division at The Leaze.
Opening the batting, Ranuk Jayasuriya helped the Minstermen chase down a target of 136 for victory, scoring a 60-ball half century.
He was eventually dismissed for 51, having hit six boundaries.
