Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa revealed today (1) in the Parliament that there have been 3 massive frauds in the ordering of  60×30 feet LED screens for the 3 stadiums Pallekele, Dambulla and Kettarama.Sri Lanka Latest News

Although the tender was opened on July 14, 2023, Sri Lanka Cricket has sent $29,000 on July 13, and Million Laugh Entertainment, Imagine Entertainment, Atom Technologies and John Keells Automation participated in this tender, but the final ones have submitted for this. The opposition leader also said that Million Laugh Entertainment and Imagine Entertainment are the two companies.

Here, the demand of Million Laugh Entertainment is 360 million and the demand of Imagine Entertainment is 335 million and there is no signature in the files of Imagine Entertainment and this tender has been given to Million Laugh Entertainment with a loss of 25 million. But the opposition leader said that justice was not done.

Also, at the moment, the regulatory officials are conducting an investigation related to the LED screens brought to these 3 stadiums, and the reason is that only 65 lakhs have been paid as taxes for this, and 29,000 dollars have been paid less than the prescribed amount and taxes have been evaded, at least for these 3. The opposition leader also said that 150,000 dollars should be paid as taxes.

Due to the lack of government revenue, while increasing the VAT and imposing heavy tax burden on the people, such corrupt institutions are stealing the revenue due to the government and even though the parliament has unanimously decided to remove this corrupt gang, nothing has been implemented. Opposition Leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said in Parliament.

However, when the ruling party ministers led by the Prime Minister said that the opposition leader’s opportunity to ask questions under 27/2 should be limited, it was also seen how the opposition leader responded.
