If an alliance is formed between the United National Party (UNP) and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), its leadership will be held by SJB leader Sajith Premadasa, confirmed SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara.
He highlighted that in the last general election, the SJB secured 1.9 million votes, resulting in the election of 40 Members of Parliament from the party.
Madduma Bandara also assured that no injustice would be done to SJB members in the course of alliance discussions.
