A special meeting between Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, Hon. Myeon Lee, was held today at the Opposition Leader’s office in Colombo. Sri Lanka Latest News

The meeting was convened with the intention of securing immediate relief for Sri Lankans affected by the ongoing disaster situation. During the discussion, the Opposition Leader requested the Korean Ambassador’s support in providing urgent assistance to help alleviate the crisis.

Premadasa further emphasized the need to strengthen the country’s health services to effectively respond to potential post-disaster epidemics that may emerge once the floodwaters recede. He pointed out that operations at several hospitals, as well as rail and road transport services, have been disrupted and must be restored urgently, calling for necessary support in this regard.

The Opposition Leader also appealed to the Korean Ambassador to extend assistance to help Sri Lanka rebuild during this challenging period—highlighting that the Republic of Korea, as a longstanding and trusted friend, has consistently supported skilled and talented Sri Lankan youth by providing valuable employment opportunities.
