Premadasa further emphasized the need to strengthen the country’s health services to effectively respond to potential post-disaster epidemics that may emerge once the floodwaters recede. He pointed out that operations at several hospitals, as well as rail and road transport services, have been disrupted and must be restored urgently, calling for necessary support in this regard.
