It is reported that opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has taken a firm decision to remove Kalutara District Member of Parliament Rajitha Senaratne from Samagi Jana Balawega from the party.

Although Mr. Rajitha Senaratne had expressed his opinion on several occasions that he would join the government by getting the health minister ship, it has been learned that the immediate reason for this was his official announcement at a press conference at the opposition leader’s office last Thursday.

Apart from this, it is said that the reason for this is that the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has been receiving complaints from Sajaba MPs regarding Mr. Rajitha Senaratne’s activities for the past few months.

The MPs have complained to the opposition leader that Mr. Rajitha Senaratne had taken steps to invite them to join the government on various occasions.

Therefore, the MPs had pointed out to Mr. Sajith Premadasa on many occasions that a decision should be taken regarding Mr. Rajitha Senaratne immediately.

In addition to this, many of the constituency organizers who met the leader of the opposition while holding meetings at the constituency level had also taken steps to complain to Mr. Premadasa about Mr. Rajitha Senaratne. Also, constituency organizers across the country have spoken to the opposition leader and pointed out that Mr. Rajitha Senaratne should be removed from the party immediately, that he should be given the opportunity to join the government and get a ministerial position, and that Mr. Senaratne’s continued presence in the party is harmful to the party.

Accordingly, the opposition leader have decided to remove Mr. Rajitha Senaratne from Samagi Jana Balavega.
