Sri Lanka’s Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has extended heartfelt gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India for their timely support as the island battles a worsening humanitarian crisis.
In a message posted on X, Premadasa thanked India for its “tremendous support” during this critical hour, while also making a renewed appeal for additional assistance to safeguard Sri Lankans from the unfolding disaster.
He stressed that more aid, resources and regional cooperation are urgently needed to protect vulnerable communities as the situation continues to deteriorate.
