At the special meeting chaired by President Ranil Wickramasinghe yesterday, a controversial situation has arisen regarding the people who have been invited to it and the matters that have been discussed there.

Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam, Secretary General of Pohottuwa, who participated in representing Pohottuwa, expressed his opinion against it.

The representatives of all parties representing the government and the leaders of Pohottuwe and the district leaders were invited to this discussion.

Here, the representatives of the government have pointed out that this meeting was called to discuss how all the parties will work together as a government.

Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam has pointed out that although the president has the ability to call the cabinet meeting, the government party member group meeting, etc., he does not have the ability to call the pohottu representatives.

Mr. Nimal Lanza, who was present here representing the independent groups, has stated that everyone should work together to strengthen the government, regardless of whether it is UNP or Pohottuwa.

But Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam, who has also objected to that, has pointed out that since Pohottuwa has the power to govern, the affairs of strengthening the government should be discussed with Pohottuwa.
