Relatives of the disappeared during military conflicts in the North yesterday staged a protest in Vavuniya throwing rotten tomatoes at the photos of several leaders of Tamil political parties and Tamil parliamentarians.

The protest coincided with the completion of their Satyagraha campaign compelling the government to resolve the issue of the disappeared and the International Human Rights Day.

They accused the Tamil politicians who failed to make any effective representation to the International community or the President regarding the disappeared.

They cast rotten tomatoes at the pictures of Tamil National Alliance Leader R. Sampanthan, Leader of the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi Mavai Senathirajah,

Leader of the Tamil National People’s Alliance C.V Wigneshvaran, PLOTE Leader, T. Siddharthan, Leader of the EPRLF Suresh Premachandran, Parliamentarians Selvam Alaikkalanathan, M. A. Sumanthiran, S. Sridharan, and Vivo Norhradhalingam.
