Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe says that if cricket is banned for some reason, he will be handed over to Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga for a period of 6 months and then an election will be held. Sri Lanka Latest News
The minister said this while replying to a statement made by opposition leader Mr Sajith Premadasa that there is an attempt to subject Sri Lankan cricket to an international ban in Parliament today (10).
Further commenting there, the Minister mentioned that he will go before the Court of Appeal on the coming Monday and expects justice from it.
However, the Minister of Sports said that the trust placed in the Attorney General has been broken now and said that he is handling the matter through private lawyers.
“A ban will not come again. Unless these people exert excess power, or unless the people of Sri Lanka betray. After all, I saw a minister also speak negatively about if this is banned. What we would do In that case, we have to hand it over to Mr Arjuna Ranatunga for 6 or 8 months and restructure it, then we go to an official election, pass this bill and go to the next competitions. Go ahead to agree. Accordingly, I am going to the Court of Appeal on Monday. We expect justice from there. Otherwise, it will go to the Supreme Court. Get rid of this evil herd. Those measures are being taken continuously. I no longer have faith in the Attorney General’s program. Private lawyers are hired for that. Because it has been done continuously.”
