There has been strong public demand for former cricketer Roshan Mahanama to be appointed as the Chairman of the Cricket Interim Committee expected to be formed following the resignation of Shammi Silva as Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Several opinion polls were conducted on social media yesterday and today regarding the proposed appointment. Among the names suggested — Arjuna Ranatunga, Sidath Wettamuny, Iran Wickramaratne, and Roshan Mahanama — Mahanama received the highest level of public preference.
