Reuters lies! The IMF negotiations will terminate in February 2023 even if all requirements are met, including paying the loan in dollars. Central bank report reveals truth EXCLUSIVE
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Reuters report that the IMF will receive $2.8 million before the end of the year was untrue.

The Central Bank reported this.

We found this news since Reuters had released misleading news on the Financial Fund earlier.

Reuters stated that the IMF will grant Sri Lanka $2.8 million this year, but we found that we must wait until the first quarter of next year to finalise negotiations with the fund.

Debt restructure will be explored.

The loan arrangement will be enforced if discussions are successful.

This will happen in 2023’s first quarter.

Even to release the initial part of the loan, the financial fund has numerous more stages to undergo.

As reported by Reuters
Reuters news service reports that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka expects that by the end of this year, Sri Lanka will be able to get approval for a loan of 2.9 billion US dollars through the International Monetary Fund.

Reuters News Service reports that the officials of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka have presented their views in the discussion held with investors today (23).

Reuters has further reported that this was reported according to the information of those who participated in the event.
