The police have been ordered by the Right to Information Commission to divulge information, including the number of people imprisoned under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, by the 28th of this month.
If this information is not provided within the specified time, the Commission has decided to file a case against the Sri Lanka Police and the Information Officer in the Magistrate’s Court, and the Right to Information Commission made this order after hearing an appeal filed by Mr. Suren D. Perera, a lawyer.
