Selvam Adeikalanadan, a TNA member and TELO leader, questions the government about former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake’s visit to Mannar with some Colombo-based businessmen.
According to Mr Adeilkalanathan, the former minister arrived with some large-scale sea food manufacturing businessmen, and the visit should have been communicated to the Minister of Fisheries.
He claims that governments initiate projects without consulting with local representatives or the general public. This caused a lot of problems for the people in the area.>
He went on to say that the former finance minister’s unexpected visit raises a lot of suspicion among everyone involved.
