The king of Malaysia has invited President Ranil Wickremesinghe to pay an official visit to Malaysia and accordingly, the President has expressed his agreement to visit Malaysia in January or February next year.
The Malaysian Prime Minister said that he is interested in directing more companies to invest in Sri Lanka and also gave a positive response to the signing of a free trade agreement between the two countries.
Malaysia’s foreign minister is scheduled to attend the IORA summit in Colombo next month, and the Malaysian prime minister said he supports Sri Lanka’s efforts to join the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
