Ranil, who visited Jaffna amidst protests, discusses the 13th amendment again!

President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that the focus is on implementing the 13th constitutional amendment in the next few years.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe said this while attending the Taipongal National Festival in Jaffna today (15).

“We are now looking to fully implement the 13th constitutional amendment.” It is not only a problem in the north. Our Southern Chief Ministers are also asking to implement this. So we are going to talk and act. So let’s do this systematically in the next two years. Today, poverty, hunger, and unemployment are not limited to Tamils or Sinhalese. We all suffer. We all have to come together. So today, there are not only the problems of the Dravidians in the north.

There are other issues to discuss. So after these discussions, I will start the second round by bringing MPs and parliamentary party leaders, especially those representing the Dravidian people in the hills. The Tamil people of the hills have been integrated into our entire society. We will give them the rights enjoyed by Sinhala and Tamil Muslims and the enjoyment of society.”
