The government has decided to hand over to the new President, Ranil Wickremesinghe, the house on Paget Road in Colombo where former President Maithripala Sirisena lived.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe is now in a safe location after someone set fire to his home.
The President and Prime Minister are unable to live in the Presidential Palace or Temple House due to ongoing court cases.
As a result, it was decided that the President would move into the home of former President Maithripala Sirisena.
A court order evicted the former president from this house about two months ago.
