Mr. Rajitha Senaratne has taken steps to inform the Samagi Jana Balawega that he will not leave the party and join the government, he will not issue any more statements about becoming a minister, nor will he become a minister.

Mr. Rajitha Senaratne was summoned to the party’s disciplinary committee yesterday to inquire about his statement that he would join the government if given the health ministry, and it has been learned that he has stated this.

Ranjith Maddumabandara, Kabir Hashim, Laxman Kiriella and Tissa Attanayake participated in this disciplinary committee meeting.

But Mr. Sarath Fonseka and Mrs. Thalatha Athukorala did not participate in it yesterday.

However, when the Disciplinary Committee asked Mr. Rajitha Senaratne about this, he said that he will not make such statements from now on, will not join the government and become a minister, and will never leave the party.

Accordingly, Mr. Rajitha Senaratne has informed the disciplinary committee that he is ready to issue an announcement within 24 hours after including these facts.

Accordingly, the Disciplinary Committee has finally decided to investigate the matter after issuing the relevant notice and entrust the final decision regarding Mr. Rajitha Senaratne to the Leader of the Opposition.

Meanwhile, it is reported that all the trade union representatives of the party came and met the party secretary general Mr. Ranjith Maddumabandara and informed them to take strict disciplinary action against Mr. Rajitha Senaratne.
