The Western, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and Southern Provinces, as well as Ampara and Batticaloa districts are likely to experience these heavy downpours.

In addition, the Eastern, Uva and Southern Provinces are expected to experience temporary enhancement in showery weather conditions today, with showers or thundershowers predicted in various districts including Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya and Matale.

In the Eastern and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Hambantota, Nuwara Eliya and Matale districts, showers or thundershowers will occur at times.

Meanwhile, the Northern and North Central Provinces may experience several spells of showers.

For the rest of the island, showers or thundershowers are forecast at several places after 2:00 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
