The Department of Meteorology announces that it will rain from time to time in Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa and Matale districts today (20). (Sri Lanka Latest News)
Also, in the Northern Province and Anuradhapura District, there may be some rains, and in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western Provinces and Galle and Matara Districts, there may be scattered showers or thunderstorms after around 02.00 pm.
It is said that there will be heavy rain of about 75 mm in some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
It is also reported that foggy conditions may prevail in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
