A protest was staged yesterday in front of the head office of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board in Ratmalana.
The demonstration was organized by members of the Revenue Assistants’ Independent Trade Union, who voiced their concerns over several pressing demands.
The situation at the protest site grew tense at times.
Among the demands raised were the resumption of issuing water bills, an increase in the uniform allowance, expedited internal promotions, and the immediate discontinuation of conditions imposed on compensatory leave.
