Imtias Bakir Maker, Gayantha Karunatilaka, Dr Harsha de Silva, and Eran Wickramaratne are also members.

According to a spokesperson, the relevant committee has already begun discussions and meetings with university academics, journalists, and many other relevant civil society members.

The opposition unity will air their position on the broadcasting authority act after discussions with all relevant groups.

Meanwhile, Professor G.L Pieris will chair a committee to research the proposed Anti-Terrorism Act.

A committee led by Mr Eran Wickramaratne would investigate the Central Bank Act.

Meanwhile, a special discussion on the proposed broadcasting act will be held in parliament on June 7th. Dr. Wijedasa Rajapakse, Minister of Justice, will lead this discussion.
