Professional unions will take trade union action on April 3rd.The final letter to the President will be delivered today.

If the tax problem is not resolved, the professionals’ unions say that they will resume professional actions from the 3rd .

They emphasized yesterday (29) that the final letter on this matter will be sent to the President today (30).

The union of professionals met in Colombo yesterday (29) afternoon.

Representatives of trade unions from various fields such as medicine, university, banking, and engineering participated in this and they discussed the future professional measures.

With the participation of 47 trade unions, this trade union action was started on the basis of revising the tax system, which includes tax at the time of earning for those with incomes above one lakh rupees.

Revision of bank loan interest rate, reduction of cost of living including electricity bill were also among their demands.
