According to the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, the Tuesday bus service will be fully affected due to the fuel issue (5).

SLTB Depots are not providing enough fuel for private buses, according to Gemunu Wijeratne, the chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association.

He added that over 10,000 buses are already lined up outside of the depots, hoping to buy fuel.

Anjana Priyanjith, general secretary of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association, claims that the government has not supplied gasoline to private buses.

Nearly 4,800 buses, according to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), will be in service on Tuesday (5).

A.S.B. Weerasuriya, the SLTB’s chief operating officer, claimed that provincial services and interprovincial services are complementary.
