Her Royal Highness Princess Royal, Princess Anne, and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence embarked on the first official royal tour of the year on Wednesday (10), visiting Sri Lanka and staying until January 13th.

This significant trip coincides with the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will arrive in Sri Lanka on a SriLankan Airlines flight.

Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, Princess Royal, is the second child and only daughter of  Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and the only sister of His Majesty King Charles III.

Princess Anne’s itinerary is expected to feature engagements celebrating the anniversary, including a meeting with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

This year’s royal travel schedule promises to be diverse and eventful, with other senior members of the Royal Family poised for global engagements.

News reports suggest that His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen will embark on a tour of Canada in May, followed by a visit to Australia, New Zealand, and Samoa in October. Meanwhile, The Prince and Princess of Wales are rumoured to be planning an official visit to Italy this spring.
