Presidential Secretariat Issues Urgent Call Amidst 4-Hour Health Strike Across 5 Sri Lankan Hospitals I Sri Lanka Latest News

Members of 72 health unions have decided to engage in a symbolic strike for 4 hours from 6.30 am today (01). Sri Lanka Latest News
It includes public health inspectors, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, radiologists and other union members.

Chanaka Dharmawickrama, co-convener of the Alliance of Health Trade Unions, stated that the 4-hour strike is going on today at Kandy National Hospital, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Ratnapura Teaching Hospitals and Badulla Provincial General Hospital.

Meanwhile, he said that the President’s Office has been called for a discussion today regarding his demands.

Mr. Chanaka Dharmawickrama said that the discussion will be held today at noon and he expects to get a final answer to his demands in that discussion.

The Alliance of Health Trade Unions says that if solutions for their problems are not found in the discussion held at the President’s Office today, they will start a continuous trade union action at 6.30 tomorrow morning.
